Richard A. Viguerie is the man who invented political and ideological direct mail in order to bring the voices of conservative citizens' across America to Washington. Direct mail bypassed the liberal mainstream media, raised billions for conservative candidates and causes, and blindsided the elected establishment. Within two decades, Ronald Reagan was in the White House.

 

Morton Blackwell, founder of The Leadership Institute, aptly dubbed Viguerie "The Funding Father" of the conservative movement.
